It is now ten minutes to
Ten minutes til midnight
The Crickets are calling
In the dark to the twilight
They call for a partner
They call for a mate
They call through the night
They call out for a date
The traffic in the distance
The cars pass quietly
Heard vaguely from the engines
The sounds are a variety
1:05 am
It is now five minutes past one
All of the Crickets still chirping
From the left and from the right
All around they're still stirring
Looking up I see a few stars
One is bright just to my right
A few scattered not far away
With clear skies above tonight
Motors can be heard somewhere
Perhaps a central air conditioner
Some of them are quite loud
Maybe you've seen one similar?
The noises at night are lovely
Except for the Crickets though
Nature makes wonderful sounds
But enough already, bring on the snow
