Oh how I wish I knew what you are thinking
With your brown eyes open wide.
Staring into an empty space.
A place where you can't hide.
I fear that you're unhappy.
And though you want to cry
You cannot shed but one tear
No matter how hard you try.
Your rosy cheeks begin to fade.
What happened to that smile?
That laugh that had me laughing with you?
You always exuded style.
Somehow you want me to hear you.
To listen to your woes.
To understand the pain inside your heart
As it continues to grow.
All of a sudden you look at me
With an element of surprise.
I too feel the same as you
As we look each other in the eyes.
But then we both see something
That we've never seen before.
A sense of satisfaction
That we've wanted so much more.
We have both been working way too hard
To get where we want to be.
For I have always been inside of you.
And you inside of me.
Now we are one and together.
And here we both shall stay
Sharing the good and bad times
Whatever comes our way.
