The human mouth can be so destructive,
A weapon to cause pain, the result so reflective,
The words that come out can leave scars so deep,
The hurt caused is something we can't always keep.
The mouth can shatter dreams and break hearts,
The pain it causes can play its part,
For words can be just as powerful as a blade,
And the hurt can stay long after it's been said.
The tongue can be a double-edge sword,
Destroying lives with every word,
So we must be careful of what we say,
Lest our words cause another's dismay.
The human mouth can be so destructive,
