The Awakening Reality of Television 📺

Does TV really shape our reality? Yes, it does. TV can alter our sense of reality in anything we watch. Every channel we turn to either display someone fighting, shooting, showing off their talent, or someone living their life. The goal of television is supposed to be only for entertainment. A lot of people do not see television in that way in this day and age. What we see on TV is a reality in the sense. TV shows like "Housewives of Atlanta," Basketball Wives, "Love and Hip and "Love at First Sight " depict the outside world and turn reality into a fantasy. Reality TV has a negative impact on society. Reality TV can be so negative towards children. Reality shows are often exaggerated. Reality TV has the tendency to give us, as the audience, false and unrealistic expectations. That is why TV looks and feels so much like reality.
How I watch television and see the world is that there are so many people in the world who want to be like the characters on television. When we watch reality TV, we see people living a boujee and spoiled life. We see them going to parties, clubs, fancy dinners, having brunch, and not doing anything that would get them somewhere as far as having any form of job. TV makes celebrities out of ordinary people we see out in the streets or people that we know. Some viewers want to be like the characters that are portrayed on TV. Social Network explains it all of how TV shapes our reality. The audience gets attracted to what is being portrayed on television. Individuals watch TV on how it makes them feel and their escape from reality. TV can give individuals comfort, enjoyment, happiness, and entertainment.
There was one time in particular that my mother wanted me to watch "Love and Hip Hop" with her. I said, "ma, I'm not into reality TV shows, they boring, and they do the same stuff, gossip, and fight. It's all drama, I like movies, I like acting." She really wanted me to try to get into. She made me watch "Love and Hip Hop" with her once, and I liked it. I started watching it by myself. I was fixated on that show. At some point, I started to act like one of the characters on that show. I stop watching them kinds of shows. I do watch reality TV, but it is only Lifetime reality TV I like, like"Love at First Sight" etc… I am not into MTV or VH1. Those channels are too much for me, and it is all the same as seeing women fighting and gossiping. I do not like that.
