The Bard and The Lady
“Remember when you were young,
you shone like the sun”
The bard said..
She remembered,
Remembered how she had to fight
Every single day..
Had to fight against stereotypes
Had to fight against prejudice
Fought against the molds,
others deemed fit for her
She couldn’t remember shining like a sun..
“Now there's a look in your eyes,
like black holes in the sky”
The bard said..
She knew the look in her eyes,
Had to face it everyday
Battle scars of a past
Riddled with many wars,
Some lost, some won
But all taken its toll
Wars she didn’t feel victorious,
Even when she won..
“We're just two lost souls,
swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here”
The bard said
She knew her fears,
Knew them well.
Carried them all along..
And those fears made her here,
And not there.
But the bard didn’t know..

Eskiden İngilizce şiirler de yazardım. Ana dilinizin dışında, şiir gibi tamamen duyguya dayalı bir yapıyı inşa etmek zor ama çok tatmin edicidir. Bu șiiri de beni en çok etkileyen iki şarkıdan (Shine on you Crazy Diamond ve Wish you sere here -
Pink Floyd) esinlenerek yazmıştım.
Kadınların devamlı savaşmak zorunda kaldıkları bir dünyada ki azmine ve
gücüne olan hayranlığın mısraları olarak.
