The Battle Is Won

Have not heard a whisper.
Have not heard a scream
Unprovoked and calm
Almost the very dream
My cage remains unrattled
My bubble is intact
Gives me nothing to say
About my opinion of the fact.
They admitted there in me
Not the universe outside
Their eventual capitulation
Fills me with pride.
I don't mind so much
If it's just in my head
Makes my blood boil
Supposing we've been led.
I think I have won
Another of those wars
They can live within me
And join me in my cause.
They used to sit in committee
Opinionated all my thoughts
Examing each and every one
Popping to mind to be court.
I built an imaginary world
That made it all make sense
To get to the bottom
Of a gifts recompense.
I played the game
I walked the line
Razers edge between
Their world and mine
Either could have been real
One the other both indeed
Or neither to be fair
Glimmers of potential need.
