The battles we never tell

The most vicious battles are the silent ones
Muted screams and muffled sobs
Wounds ,bruises and scars lurk deep inside
They are spotted only by the trained eyes;
The swollen- shut ,the sleep- deprived,
the dark, and the hallow eyes
How naïve I was thinking that others’ journey
Was a plain sailing, while mine was a hurricane
But now, I understand that the inner peacefulness
They feigned was merely a diversion.
Now, I see- with my trained eyes- I see
Agitated souls beneath those plastic smiles
