Entering life (mothers):
In womb, counting tombs
Planning my escape to bloom
Knowing am heading for doom
Many women forced to face
Hoodlums practicing sodomy
Girl don't cry, pass the saw to me
An apology from the sadder me,
Sincerely, let's saw the evil off
Our midst, to end the forceful
Peeling of potatoes by monstrous
Hooligans, every woman must
Learn Martial Arts, have black
Belt in karate and Kung Fu, master
The use of Samurai sword, from
Broken homes, many kids grow to
Practice footing sisters, hurting
Mothers, sedating our women
Navigating life:
I'm a dribbler of words, avoid
My ink drops, I'm the darkest soul,
The home of haunted thoughts, I'm
A player, I'm a leg spreader with
No playground, crossing enemy
Lines in battlefields, advisories
Heavily armed with kitchen knives
Left, right, centre, I embraced them
With napalm, go to war with me
Not against me, some parents come
Home from battlefields, surprising
Their proud kids, some kids buried
Parents in battlefields, some single
Parents lost their spouses to battlefields,
Buried their whole family and surprise
Their surviving kids with long journeys
Into refugee shelters, from war zones
To comfort zones in terrible zones
Dadaab, Moria, Rohingya in flames
Defined by pieces of paper, the
Refugee status is our price tags,
Finding strength:
I'm the dark hearse, stopping only in the cemetery
Dropping remains and pieces
Of blind soldiers who sought to
Defeat me in wordplay, I'm the
Priest, reading your eulogy while
You are being buried with your mouth
Open, using all the sophisticated
Metaphors, the homonyms, the
Homographs, the homophones,
The syllables, all in one verbal
Shovel without any obituary, I'm
The Leviathan, the Apalala, I am
Jack Churchill, I am Roy Benavidez,
I am Hercules, made from a rib from
Zeus, battling me would be blasphemy
Careful not to misspell my name
Athena would throw your pieces
In cages in which hellhounds
Crave for blood vessels of sinners
With my price tag, I’ll be sitting here
Easing the tensions in the scars of
disturbed orphans who finally have
Made it through the horrors in Balkan
Borders, waiting for UNHCR and
SPRAR to paste a tag on their hearts
