The Bookworm's Poem About Her Love:

Sitting inside those four walls,
Checking her phone,
Once, twice, a third time.
Just sitting there, thinking, alone.
The hours crawl along,
The future to present to past.
She's waiting for her social lover
To come home to her at last.
What world lies beyond her boundaries
That could possibly compare to the world within?
An easy question to which she has the answer:
The world beyond her security offers her him.
Yet for this brief window in her time
She turns to her books and leans unto this,
While she waits for one, two, three hours more
Trying to lose herself in the world they promise.
And yet...
She longs to be more, to sprout her wings.
So that she can be just like him:
To be a passage in life's glorious book
And experience the world within.
