By Simeon Austin David Pangu
A bull and a pheasant, grazing in the field,
The pheasant gazed up, with a wistful feel.
"Oh, alas," it said, "there was a time,
I could soar to the top, so easy and fine."
The bull, so nonchalant, with a nod and a shrug,
Said, "just eat a bit of my dung, every day, no fuss."
The pheasant was skeptical, with a chuckle and a frown,
But still, it followed, not wanting to let it down.
Days went by, and the pheasant, to its surprise,
Reached the topmost branch, with soaring skies.
Sitting proud, it basked in the sun,
But, little did it know, its journey had just begun.
For the farmer, with a shotgun, saw it there,
And with a bang, the pheasant fell from its fair.
It realized too late, the bull's words were just lies,
And now, it had paid, with its life, the prize.
The moral of this tale, so true and so clear,
Even bullshit can take you to the top, it's true, my dear.
But it will never last, nor will it bring you peace,
For staying there requires effort, skill, and release.
