The butterfly beheld a flower.
Prim and dapper were its petal.
Alluring and irresistible it appeared from the bower
Where the butterfly stood lonesome and futile.
Fluttering, it visits the flower
And learned of juices it has to offer.
"In this home I must be a dweller",
It said, "to enjoy, build and not plunder.
Although bashful the flower was at first,
It settled to the coition its visitor brings
And basked in the euphoria of the seedling's birth;
A song of perpetuation in its mind sings.
Then blew the wind of complacency,
The lofty dream and promise of nurture wane;
Quickened by torrents stained with egotistic fancy
Which hurts like a cut with a pane.
But they with each other cannot part
'cause the bond between them now is fast.
Each must do its part
To keep their ship sailing and fleet.
