Riding in the car
To here then there
Really isn't that far
But for him is still rare
Open the window
Let some air blow
Such a nice breeze
On to him it flows
Nothing is the same
Since he was a kid
The scenery has changed
And he as well did
The roads have changed
Some now are new
Buildings erected
The older ones now few
His childhood friends
Now just a thought
But never forgetting
What each of them taught
Secret places to hide
To just get away
Talking for hours and
Wasting away the day
To have those days back
And to have no worries
Again to see his friends
Of course he would hurry
All of his memories
Of growing up with them
Will never fade away
Because he treasures it
Like a gem
