The commander in chief

And the time had come
Things weren't the same
the carnival had ended
And that he had traded
With the power of the gun
Had all perished with the setting of the sun
He was fierce and feared
And people were tortured and tired
All the praises they sung for him
Were his road to doom
I remember so well
when his mighty hand of justice
Felled a city at noon
for he wanted the land
that people had known as home
Then that was enough
People had lost hope
And he wasnt ready to stop
For his word was a command
And murder , torture and arbitrary arrests were a brand
Poor commander in chief
His palaces of command
All left in ruins
by the angry mob
That stormed the capital
And his blood was the ink
That painted a new start
And his head was the sign post
The signified salvation.
Fear was no more
Since the chief was no more
