He's been a cowboy all his life
Has to be out on the open range
Softly he whistles to himself
Looking for anything that appears strange,
When on a cattle drive
He plays his guitar
Soothing the restless herd
'Neath the full moon and stars,
Yes, he enjoys his drink
Don't care for any bar
His beer is natural, homemade
Perfers to drink from a mason jar,
Most drives can be long and hard
Sometimes a month or more
To reach the stock yard
He drove them now just like before,
If you don't work you don't eat
That's what the Good Book will say
Work hard for every dollar
That's the range riding cowboys way,
A job will seldom come easy
When you're to proud to work on a farm
Let the uneducated earn the meager wage
My living off my "wifes" welfare's a charm,
No wonder this nations in a rage
People who whine won't do hard work
They even cry at minimum wage.
He enjoys being a cowboy
Near the fire strumming his guitar
When you work hard sleep comes easy
'Neath the full moon and falling star's.
