THE CRAWLING CLOUD

THE CRAWLING CLOUD
I awoke one morning to behold the rain outside,
The clouds seemed to crawl across the sky,

Within me, I felt a slow demise,
Yet the rain concealed my tears.
Each tear seared my pillow;
Whenever you inflicted pain upon me.

There are moments when I feel compelled to ignite the house,
For I have grown weary of your deceit,
I yearn for an embrace that remains elusive.

I hoped you would perceive the truth through my tears,
But you were preoccupied with the company of others;
Could you not discern my tears?

I have offered my love wholeheartedly,
My body has known no other man's touch.
My heart never entertained the notion of being cherished by another.

Now I understand,
Even when you are in my presence;
Your heart resides elsewhere.
You no longer refer to me as your sunshine,
What has become of such a beautiful cloud?
Oh, love no longer dwells here.
