The Darkness

She sits in a room behind a locked door
She no longer goes outside anymore
Her happiness has been defeated by depression again
How could she possibly let this horrible demon in
It knocked at the door and she answered without checking first
It came in like thunder with a loud burst
The tears slowly creep down her cheeks
The darkness has overtaken her for weeks
She hides behind a broken smile
In her mouth the taste of bile
The fear of losing to this horrible disease
Makes her weak and shaky in the knees
She cuddles her favorite teddy bear and weeps
She feels the darkness as it creeps
It makes it's way and consumes her whole body at a slow steady pace
Now if you see her it shows on her face
Her eyes are dark and all sunken in
This is a fight she wont ever win
