The Day The Wind Blew

This was the day
The day the wind blew
At that moment was when the promise was made
They were hot dogs and marshmallows we were roasting
Over a bright beautiful fire
On a bright beautiful night
When I looked up at the sky and said
"Why?"
"Why did humans welcome themselves
Here in nature's home?"
"Just to wreck it
Destroy it
Watch it burn to the ground."
"One day the children of my children's children
Will, too, look up to the sky and say
'The sky
My great-grandparent once knew
Seems far from what
We know as the truth'"
"Hey, Dad"
I said...
"I think I want to change the world."
It was then when the wind blew
Sparks flying
And leaves soaring
Hair on my face
As the fire went out
Then sparked again
As the wind gave out
It was then
The day the wind blew
That I not only thought
But I KNEW
I would change the world
