The Daydreaming Diaries

She's putting us
To sleep
The furniture is medicated
We crawl on linoleum
Licking traces
Of stained soul
For our addicted tongues
Mama will take care of us
She always does
When we're hurting
She'd put anesthesia under our pillow
In capsules
She'd make sure they were my favorite color
Just so I'd love her
But she didn't want to hear us at night
She needed to be numb too
She wanted to be deaf
Like me and you
But it's hard to dream
When leather held you more
Than mom did
Nothingness loved us more
When the demons held us
On the bathroom floor
But she was the best mother
Wasn't she?
The only one that we have
I know her love is artificial
And her nose is bleeding
Let's sleep in the seams
Of those poppy seed dreams
Pray she never leaves
Hope she never breathes
Father my mother sold her soul
To the devil she never sees
