The Death God's Smiling Face

I run as fast as I can
the sun is sinking low
I have no where to go
I burned my last bridge
it all went up in smoke
as I fell on deaf ear like an untold joke
the past cought up with me
as the crow sart flocking
the volchers fly stocking
my deeds are long since done
the people part ways
all of them know what fate awaits
I turn the last corner
to exit the maze
but the death God is there with a smiling face
his hand outstretched
with a boney touch
a sword in the other used for a crutch
I stop and I stair
in his dark black eyes
I see nothing in them but where the dammed lie
his skin shrunken to his bones
gaping wounds with no blood
from which gnates flood
he pulls me in
to his cold embrace
the world moves forward at it's natural pace
