THE DEMON SCENT👹

Who truly deserves respect?

I am the rose, so soft and kind,
held with care, though thorns can bind.
I lifted you up with gentle hand,
so even small things could see and stand —
the beauty of mist at early dawn,
when morning light comes soft and drawn.

My smile was light, so sweet and true,
a joy no words could ever do
full justice to, or name or tell —
just happy, simply to dwell
in peace and grace, and love so free,
and giving all I had to thee.

I gave my heart with no demand,
I loved you through the changing land.
I let you tear my petals down,
to stand up tall and win renown —
I bore the hurt, I bore the pain,
and loved you still, through every gain.

You were that bug, so small and new,
watching others pass in view —
they drank and sang and laughed with cheer,
and seemed to hold the joy so near.
You breathed their air, their ways, their style,
and sadness filled your heart the while.

Though safe and warm on me you lay,
where peace and calm had ruled all day,
you felt a pull, a strange desire,
to leave the light and seek the fire.
You tried to leap and fly away,
but could not reach the distant day.

So I bent low my leafy stair,
to lead you where you wanted to fare.
I showed the path to joy and rest,
I gave you all that I possessed.
But you forgot the good you had,
and turned to things that made you sad.

You chose to love what was not mine,
a heavy breath, a dark design —
a smell that choked the air around,
and left no gentle sight or sound.
Your sweet and gentle breath grew thin,
replaced by something cold within.
It was like shadows, dark and grim,
like the demon scent that clung to him.

And still you came, when all was done,
to seek my warmth and comfort once.
You did not see the tears I shed,
the pain that lived inside my head.
You did not know I cried each hour,
to bear the weight you brought with power.
You did not care what I could give,
but chose the way you chose to live.

You did not respect the rose so true,
but loved the demon scent like new —
a heavy breath that felt like fame,
and changed the way you spoke and named.
You left the love that held you near,
and chose the path that brought you fear.
