If a scapegoat is the burden bearer for the wrongdoings, mistakes or faults of others, I now have a clear realization of precisely why the "devil" wreaks such havoc upon humanity. The "devil" is obviously repulsed by how comfortable we all are with blaming him for our overabundance of atrocities and distasteful acts.
