Help me rise and shine
Become my candle in the dark
Yet break me instead,
Hold me back from moving ahead
And claim I should be understanding
Just in the name of family.
I love family, but why should I stay
Where I never belonged.
Why should I understand it's Importance,
where I never mattered to understand
Why should I care to break a bond,
Where I have always been a stranger.
So don't call me irresponsible
Neither rush to taint me a traitor
Neither claim am disappointing
When only I was a pet to you
A pawn you pawn for you to set
To catch the bigger fish
When actually I was losing.
Don't say I changed, just I realized
Blood bonds matter but less at times,
A friend could save you from a family
So it's not about the blood we share
But what we genuinely hold at heart
Home could be hell for me
Yet the judge could be my true home
For it's where the heart finds peace
Not always where I was born.
