The diner
I'm gonna tell you a story of a dog and a man
A story of love, friendship and a girl named Fran
One day a man was walking down the street
Minding his business and stopping to eat
He went to his favourite diner on the corner
Inside he sat at the counter and waited to order
The waitress came up and says hi there Moe
He smiles and replies could i get some Joe
She reaches for the coffee pot and then a cup
Pours the hot beverage and neatly fills it up
There's a woman sitting next to him eating fries
She seems very sad from the look in her eyes
Moe is a inquisitive person and always curious
Confident and positive and needs to know first
He asks her how are you ma'am ,are you OK?
The lady looks at him and mumbles not today
She explains she's ill and has a short time to live
Her dog is at home, he'll have no one to be with
Moe and her begin chatting about the dog
Three hours passed, neither gave it thought
The lady was in a predicament with no plan
So then Moe offered to lend a helping hand
Moe said I would love to take your furball
So they made plans to meet after she calls
The next day she meets him at the park
The dog was nervous and let's out a bark
Moe talks to him gently and pats his head
The dog sniffed him , she says his name is Ted
They talked for awhile both seemed excited
Moe was attracted to her , Fran was delighted
He said in a crackled voice , perhaps a dinner
Fran was so emotional , but showed a glimmer
They began dating , With Ted always beside
To the park and beach with the dog in sight
Fran began treatment which healed her illness
Moe, so happy he gave her a ring as his promise
They married after a year and all three lived happily
A couple united after a day at the diner randomly
