the escape
Blinded by the escapes
The insatiable need for an intoxicated getaways
Painted my walls red, lost in my truth to feel alive
Amongst the crowds of friends, families and loved ones: I played still, deafened to the noises of their cares and concerns
Altered joy from spiked drinks make me dance and sway from the memories of deception and heart breaks for there's too much to bear enduring the pains
The heaviness of responsibilities, reputation and expectations to uphold is unbearable for a flawed human being
Guilt dealt it's cards and conscience played it's tricks
Piled up on pills, in the search of strength and a safe passage to the unknown
The consequence of not living up to expectations is a death sentence itself
What's a conscience after death?
Since I can't run past my shadows because they are the fragments of my darkness
Stowed away to hell, I'm befriended in the darkest of places where I'm compelled to revisit every time I want to disappear
Now I'm lost and trapped, sailing away into oblivion
What's a remorse after death?
Does it all worth it?
Do the cries, noises and prayers of the loved ones save the day or does it all make me a prey
Abused by life but life doesn't care or compensate, life goes on, be it destiny or fate
Consciousness won in all it's plays and with it's might it's paved the way
Good things have a frightening traits, burdened with a lot of restraints
Clearly, giving up sums up to an extreme need for an escape
