THE FALL

In the chill evening air I walk towards
Home humming a happy tune.
All too soon from nowhere I am Shackled in the grasps of the unknown except for a paving stone
That wrestles me to the ground in an Instant.
Shuddering in fright I am helped to My Feet for a second unaware of the Pain To follow.
A crimson ribbon swathes my top Lip
Hiding a cut from where I knocked my
face.
