The Fall

I have fallen.
Into this dizzying, hazy dreamland in which I swore I would never, ever fall into.
I have discarded my principles. For you.
I ignored my conscience. For you.
As much as you are afraid to lose me, I am more afraid of losing myself when I'm with you.
I'm afraid of how strongly I feel about you, and probably, I'll never embrace and fully acknowledge it.
Maybe one day.
You may think this is forever, but I am counting the days in which all of this will end.
Face it, all good things come to an end, as fast as it starts.
And you are too good to be true, I swear.
But God, have I fallen. I have fallen so hard.
And God, please, just stay this time.
The way you look at me. The way you laugh. I still can't look you in the eye no longer than a moment, for fear of really, really falling for you.
This is the very being poets rave about, the very essence of that one heart-wrenching song.
And by God, I get to experience this.
Falling for you is a slow, painful death.
And I'm willing to die over, and over again.
