B

The fearful lover

In a lonely corner he stands,
Afraid to approach his lover,
Placing his feet on sinking sands,
He wishes his chastisement was over.
Considering love as wanton punishment,
Finding an excuse not to speak
Saying the reward for that is banishment
His weak heart can only pick:
A few "I love you's, can you be mine?"
For me to hold you in my mind.
