The Fox
At the top of the dune
the Fennec appeared
silhouetted against the full moon
big ears all a twitter
an impression of sound
as sand silently moved
the Fennec was gone
with bated breath
the desert waited
in vain for the Fennec's return
oh lonely desert full of life
he is there
to return another night.
