The Garden I Once Tended
I leave the garden I once thought was mine,
Where flowers hid the thorns of a bitter vine.
I poured my soul to make its colors last,
But some soils are too barren, too vast.
I'll seek a sun that warms without a blame,
Where roots can drink and no one knows my shame.
This exit is not failure, but a start,
A quiet healing of the hopeful heart.
