Last night I worked the graveyard shift
In the courtyard of unit four
I always knew I had a gift
To see what was before
And sometimes they're too scary
To pretend I didn't see
See Rooigrond is a prison
Built on an old battlefield
The name means grounds of crimson
Red soil it better yields
Where lives of the innocent was lost
And farmers paid the costs
And when you work alone
Ghosts makes their presence known
They stare at you with blind hate
Reliving last moments of their fate
Old wagon wheels are screeching still
It still gives me the chills
I heard a firing cannon
Than appeared a headless man
We must have something in common
Cause surely I'm going insane
I saw him floating towards me
How the hell did he see me?
I'm trapped behind locked gates
I'm about to hyperventilate
And as he got me in his grip
I woke up from my sleep
Never will I ever again sleep at work
Cause ghosts are lurking in the dark
