T

the good die young.

you are a disease to me, a toxin,
a cancer in my mind
you rip away my every joy
you do it every time
and you do it so well
with a smile on your face
as if you never doubted
that you'd won your place
I curse the very air you breathe
the ground under your diseased feet
the friends you call your own
and the company you keep.
I wish I could be rid of you
and never see or think of you
I wish I would never hear you speak
but I know one thing is true
despite your poisonous self
and everything you deserve
despite your selfish actions
despite the cruelty you've earned
your place is assured
and your life likely will extend past everyone
you are a burden I don't want to bear
but only the good die young.
