Whilst I sat lost in thought,
And recall'd th' songs my uncle taught,
Feelin' the nostalgia it did bring:
I tried in vain but I still could not sing;
Those lovely songs he taught me in my youth.
So when I was small n cover'd in sooth,
Jumping around like a young pup
I recall my favourite music was pop;
So I laugh'd in my brittle heart,
At those days I play'd beside the hearth.
So still yet in that trance,
I heard his voice call me from behind
Then I awoke n took a reality stance:
Twas like I heard his voice remind,
That time and tide I can't rewind!
How did he know what I was thinking?
Like a sooth sayer knows palm reading
I sought to clear my thinking,
And back went I to cleaning.
