As they moved by in green
we didn't overlook our imaginations
because we thought they had brought us a fortune to last us such a long time.
Our sunken stomachs wailing at us
and the fairies in them begun to multiply
on realization that they will be able
to gallop some of what was being distributed.
With mouths dry as the bank of a dead river
we waited patiently until it was our turn.
He scratched up something on my brick backed wall signifying their recent appearance at my deserted structure.
The hand that fed us suddenly turned blur in my memories
I felt my face grow warm and moisture
crept into my eyes
our hope turned crimson and it's like we were dragging a dead horse all the nights we stayed awake waiting for the relief food that had been promised to us by the authority.
This hand corrupted our hope and change into woes of pain and regret
As we scratched our minds with labour and tension, the top brass with arrogance in their suggestions are discussing of squeezing cents out of me till my pockets cry dry
It bribed our desire to consume for it suffocated the rumbling in my stomach
above the loud crack of the distribution, nothing was recommended too good for human consumption but the serving continued.
The hand that fed us galloped past my lines of thought.
