The Hill

He walks home, with a broken heart, a broken soul and a shattered life.
Lifelessly he lurks the dark streets searching for some light in the dark, but none is found just the ghost of his past
shadowing him with each step, each breath and each wail that his body contracts.
He trips and he falls, crawls on his knees — bruises starts to
stain his once clear knees.
He searches in the dark
For the light he lost,
For the person he lost
For the him that snuck out his grasp.
But at the top of a hill, not too far away
He sees that light he seeks.
He sees the person he lost— smiling and motioning him to come closer.
He tried reaching for it,
He climbed the hill — up and up but he kept sliding down
because the steep slope was treacherous; difficult to climb
but even more difficult to understand why its difficult to climb.
He tries and he tried again
He falls, he falls
Weeps and wail
But he cannot reach the light,
He cannot reach the person who is looking straight at him,
begging him to take him home.
So he gets up and tries climbing the hill again
He stands up slowly on his feet and starts walking once again
But he cannot reach the light
He cannot reach the person who's looking straight at him,
begging him to take him home
So he gets up and tries climbing the hill again
So close he came, just a few more inches, a few more stretches,
but he lost his grip and tripped and fell and rolled down hill.
He laid there on the ground waiting for nothing but for the
darkness to consume him whole.
He lay there drowning in his own tears.
He slowly closes his eyes and wish for the best for the future to come.
Because truly he is worn out from climbing the steep hill only to find it impossible to succeed.
Imposible for happiness to hug
him with a wonderful, warm embrace.
