the house
What once was a home is simply now a house.
A place that is desolate
As quiet as a mouse…
The walls…
The paint covered walls…
The walls were you favorite color
A light shade of blue.
A blue that was soft that often calmed you.
They were covered in pictures.
That said more than words
There were memories that they stored.
Times of sorrow and times of pain
The walls were never just left plain
They weren’t just any walls.
They were the walls to the home.
The home we built for you
The one with halls you used to roam.
The halls…
They led to every room.
They led to the room in which you’d lay your head.
They led to to the room where your toys now lay dead.
But they aren’t dead, no not dead at all.
They make someone else happy
someone just as small.
But they are now gone and out of the room.
For keeping them there reminded us of you.
They remind us of the pain and sorrow you brought.
But it wasn’t your choice,
We know you fought, you gave it your all.
With all you might,
But eventually you went into the light.
We miss you son and can’t wait to see you.
Can’t wait to hear
To laugh with you
To hug you.
Son we miss you but we know you are safe.
We love you through and through.
