The Idea Of Your Absence
And when I find it hard to breathe,
you’re not there to count the tension out with me
through those deep, big breaths.
And after I’ve had a long day,
I pick up my phone with so much to say.
Staring at our empty chats, untouched, unchanged.
The smile I wore slowly slips away.
Funny how a moment can shift the mood,
from eager joy to quiet solitude.
And maybe I should write a book about you,
unfiltered, honest, true.
But I’m not scared of how to begin,
but of how the story ends.
Because I lied when I said,
“I don’t SEE you anymore.”
And when life hits,
and my heart can't carry on,
anxiety is all I find to hold.
She rubs my back and whispers,
“Everything will be alright.”
Her warmth is so perfect.
But why then do I still wish that it was YOU!😭
