The Inevitable

Years ago,
I was in my mother's suckling lap
Now I wish the lap is where I still lay
But Mother Nature calls
An inevitable call.
A reminisce of childhood
wanted to be older
But a rethink now is contradictory
For every morn I wake to a sunny day
Death's call is nearer
An inevitable call.
Sugar is tasteless
Life is worthless
I wish to sleep, waking at my last days
Sleeping and resting
Never to wake again.
Starlight.
