Long long ago
In a land no more
Lays the land
Of the time before,
In this land where once
Children cried with glee
Wearing colourful costumes
As far as the eye could see,
Witches goblins ghosts
Even a superhero
Look look over there
There's the cesar Nero,
As they would come to my door
I'd answer with something sweet
To their gleeful cry
Of Trick or Treat!!!
Now when that day
Comes rollin' aroun'
Cob webs in the sweets
Makes me feel rather down,
Gone is the laughter
Gone are the joys
Gone are the costume
Happy girl's and boy's,
Gone are the days
Of Trick or Treat
Gone are days of giving out
Sweet goodies to eat,
Bitter cold wicked people
With heart's poisoned and mean
Ruined the day that
Made a child's heart beam,
Now with deep sorrow I return
To "The Land Of Time Before"
To a place one filled with joy
Where Halloween is no more.
