The life I'm yet to live...
Strange thing we call life...
a moment of bliss,
and the next it vanishes...a space...a void...
leaving behind old versions of ourselves
we no longer recognize...
Though the life I once had seems smaller everyday,
every sip of coffee I take, every page I turn,
I find a new version of myself,
waving goodbye to the last one and still,
the old versions stay...
In a dark corner,
in a casket hidden away from the light, from the world...
But every night, as the moon gently smiles upon the earth,
it's light shimmering in my eyes,
they come awake...
Every version I chose to hide comes rushing to me...
Asking me for a life I've always dreamt of... but never lived... disappointing them and yet,
they linger around...
they come to me every night hoping I'd found my way...
Nothing but glistening eyes, overflowing with tears gently caress me,
letting me know that it was never the fault in my stars, nor my fate ...
Letting me know that I have to wait ...
For a spring morning making my skin glow like molten gold,
like the sparkle it deserves to wear...
for every shiny stone was once a dark spear,
cutting through wind and enduring the storms...
My versions make me lean towards that stolen warmth...
finally melting me to be a diamond... that I always was...
