The Man in the Red Sky
Red burns above like a wound in the night,
Branches twist upward, stealing what light.
Fog rolls in slow, with whispers untold,
Silhouettes wander, faceless and cold.
One man walks forward, coat torn at the seams,
Suit of a soldier who’s lived too many dreams.
No eyes show his face, but his step doesn’t shake,
Through ghosts of the past that he’s forced to retrace.
The sky screams in crimson, the ground fades to grey,
But he keeps on moving, one foot, then the next, each day.
Not running from shadows, not begging them to leave,
Just walking through fire that only the brave believe.
They’re memories, doubts, every “you’ll never be,”
But he’s still here standing, even when he can’t see.
So let the red sky roar and the lost souls sway,
He’s the man who walks on… when the world turns away.
