"The Mirror’s Double Voice"

"The Mirror’s Double Voice"
Yesterday I wore my crown of flame,
a sovereign of spirit, unshaken, untamed.
Every breath was thunder, every step a hymn,
I carved my worth in stone, not whim.

I was the anthem of my own design,
a fortress of light, unbreakable, divine.
The world bent gently to my radiant claim,
and I believed—yes, I believed—my name.

But dawn is a trickster, sly and severe,
it whispers in shadows what I don’t want to hear.
The mirror tilts, its voice grows sly:
“Who are you really, and why do you try?”

My crown feels heavy, my flame flickers thin,
the fortress trembles, cracks within.
I question the anthem, the hymn, the stone—
was yesterday’s triumph truly my own?

Yet boldness is not a fleeting disguise,
it is the courage to wrestle with lies.
To stand in the storm of doubt and declare:
I am both the question and the answer I bear.

So let the mirror speak in its double tongue,
I am the song both whispered and sung.
Today I may falter, tomorrow I may rise—
but I am the fire that refuses disguise.
