We reside in the shadows, unseen by society.
And shunned by society for being who we are.
Perhaps you have seen us in passing.
And pondered how we came to be.
But only lasts a fleeting thought or two.
Is that all we get?
We have endured the greatest of torturers.
Worse than any school Bully or hateful words.
Is it such a crime to be different, one mistake in life.
Outcast by the world for our oddities.
Without a second chance or thought.
Who are we you ask?
We are. . .
The blind and disabled
The gay and lesbians
The homeless and orphaned
The criminals and offenders
Just wanting to find forgiveness
We are unwanted people of the world.
No one understands us for who we truly are.
We never feel accepted no matter what we do.
We have to pretend that everything is alright.
But we are strong and we can survive almost anything.
I ask you then. Where do we belong?
