The Painting

You were a fine painting
Of pain and of sorrow
And of colours so dry
They peeled you apart.

You were stuck in a
Corner so dusty and dark
By your creator an artist
With no love for his art.

Ages passed by as your
Frame fell apart and
The colours that remained
were dull from the start.

Maybe you’d still be hung
On that wall of fine art
If your heartless creator
Had just had a heart.
