I drove up,
To the house -
Of the woman,
Of my dreams.
I wanted to surprise her,
With a foster cat -
Who was just abandoned,
By its previous owners.
And left in a junkyard,
With various racoons
With the cat,
In the kennel,
And a bow on top -
It seemed like the perfect gift.
That is,
Until I dropped the kennel,
By accident.
Having tripped,
On my own shoe lace.
I could hear
The cat moaning in pain -
But I asumed it was fine.
I looked around,
Just to make sure no neighbors were looking,
Then I walked up to the front door.
When I rang the bell -
I could hear a dog barking,
From behind the door.
By the sound of it,
It felt like the door,
Was about to burst -
That is,
Until I heard a voice,
Calming the dog down.
" It must be my beloved. "
I thought to myself.
When the door began to open -
I stared saying -
" Hello my love,
I got you a ca ... "
That's when I was interrupted,
From what I could only describe,
As a great rabbid dane -
Charging intensely towards me.
I fell hard on my back.
And I could hear the kennel,
Hitting the ground just as hard,
As I did.
With the wind knock outta me,
I slightly turn my head,
To the far right.
What I saw,
Was beyond horrid.
It was the great dane,
With its head inside the kennel,
Chewing and eating,
From whatever was within.
Though emotional scarred,
My love was really naive,
And didn't see,
What was inside the kennel.
All she said was -
" Aw,
You remembered to get Little Adolph's food.
That was really thoughtful. "
I responded,
While preventing myself from sobbing -
" Well,
I was just thinking of you, babe. "
She helped me up,
And invited me inside -
Upon entering,
I watched,
As the rabbid dane,
Struggle to get its head,
Out of the kennel.
A perfect gift indeed -
Though not for my beloved.
