"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12. The message I've gotten from this scripture is that God's word is uplifting and encouraging. God's word is so powerful that it gives the discern and the intent of our hearts. For example, by getting in God's word and being around people, I would get a sense of discernment of who that person is or how that person feels about me. Discernment comes from wisdom, not the flesh. Discernment is between the right and the wrong, judgment. But we only judge with the wisdom of God's word, not with our flesh. The word of God is a discerner.
