"THE SINKING SOUL"

"THE SINKING SOUL"
Never was the ever before it became forever
We broke chains with diamond teeth
And burned the enemy with our charcoal eyes
Translucid and every bit dangerous
Carving out the fractured and filling the hole that's been hidden in our chests
And next to my heart, was once the place you'd rest your head
For a moment so vulnerable and so easy to make that mistake
Even while trying to hold my head above water
Shouldn't I have taken the chance to stop you
Sharp knife across tainted flesh
No!
I held my breath and closed my eyes
Just waiting for your inevitable eclipse of my soul
It was something you had took before so long ago.....
I tried to be subservient, passive and ignorant
Tried to ignore wounds still deep in my skin
This hole I've dug since the day we first met
It's just about done, and made for only one
Myself!!
And not that shame or blame ever left a mark
But where it was inflicted if best depicted
The bottomless sink hole of a heart you have
Each new journey and each late encounter
Will do it's biding of taking up time
While paying no mind
So in the end if there ever was one
Has sown shut and buried me
Down for all eternity
And still all I can remember is you....
