The night drifts soft in lullaby’s embrace,
Stars like lost spirits wander through space,
Strayed from the axis of their ancient place,
Treading the dark with slow, unsteady pace.
The deep sea grips the waves’ faint, trembling beat,
Waves surge and struggle in the abyss’s heat,
Dark tides roar out a sound no ear can meet,
Crashing against cliffs where cold winds greet.
Moonlight dips its glow into the brook’s sad sigh,
The stream flows on with murmurs, soft and shy,
All these faint, shadowed things that meet the eye,
