The Storm

In the storm of 2024, I stood against the rage,
Broken and battered, yet refusing to be caged.
Family turned foe, friends became my family,
My heart stopped, pondering the bitter truth within.
My heart ceased beating, shattered by my own flesh and blood betrayal's sting,
As those I loved turned cold, a bitter seeing a side I've never seen before.
But I refuse to let bitterness define my soul,
For karma's bite digs deep in stitch old or new.
Not all that glitters is gold, truth often mistold,
But in God's hands, all mysteries unveiled.
I pledge to never trust again, through it all there is nothing much to gain,
Shattered by the pain life bring, I remain unswayed,
Been at rock bottom, bruised and battered, I found an unknown part,
Yet here I am, growing and healing, mending my broken heart.
Not all that glitters is gold, not every truth is told,
Leaving it to God, to work on me, to unfold.
Never trust again, my anthem from this day,
Keep friends close, enemies closer, as I find my way.
I'll keep my head held high in the storm's fierce blow,
Brighter days ahead, I believe, and i know i will surly grow.
I know my smile will never be the same, but I'll learn to find happiness and peace throughout each day.
