the truths

Why is it that I find the time to fix everyone else but myself? Is it because my past makes me weak? Or is it because I only face my ugly truths when you speak? Or perhaps it's denial. Either way I flip it, sooner than later I'll still have to face it. Maybe, if you didn't make my flaws out to be a sin, you and I could still have peace within, the home where you were never wrong. Whether you were poolside or bedside I frequently face my wicked truths alone. Nonchalantly blaming our downfalls on you was the only way I could seem to get through. Because you were the only one who saw my heart for what it really was, your vanishing left me broken and scarred. Leaving me without love while locked away in the dark. You threw the key so far beyond me that when someone came to set me free I wouldn't even recognize the beautiful truths within me. So why is it that I find the time to fix everyone else but myself? Perhaps it's because we never got the time to love unconditionally and free our true selves
