Since prayers won't go heard, and God is silent today,
I will take up His mantle and lend a helping hand.
No longer will supplications go unanswered
I will fulfill my duty and every wish will be grand.
For every sorrow I hear, I will take up their cause
Every angst and affliction I will make their own laws.
No waiting for a miracle from a higher power
For I am their champion - never cowering or cowering.
I will make the world a better place to live
Bringing joy to a life that only knew to grieve.
I will be their protector and will set them free
From the burden of their prayers that cannot be.
Though some may say I'm too bold and brash
My actions are earnest, and when finished made to last.
I may not show my contempt through rage or ire,
But the answers to prayers – they will be mine to acquire.
